Denmark's Local Market Programme focuses on accelerating the adoption of take-back schemes for building products and materials, enabling manufacturers to recover, reuse and retain the value of materials beyond their first use.
Denmark has a strong manufacturing base and growing experience with circular construction. However, many take-back solutions remain difficult to scale due to challenges related to logistics, documentation, business models and market demand.
The programme brings manufacturers, specialist SMEs and other industry actors together to identify and overcome these barriers. Through targeted market engagement, testing and support for innovative solutions, it will explore how take-back schemes can become commercially viable and integrated into mainstream construction markets.
Delivered in collaboration with Realdania's Circular Construction 2.0 initiative, the programme will generate practical insights into what it takes to scale circular business models, strengthen markets for secondary materials and support wider adoption across Denmark and Europe.
