Blueprints to accelerate the transition to a circular built environment
A key activity for CBC is to regrant funds to select organisations which we call Blueprint Projects.
So far there have been two rounds of support for Blueprint Projects, in 2024 and 2025. Through supporting Blueprint projects CBC aims to progress the maturity of circularity in the built environment in Europe.
The two Open Calls have had different emphases, the 2024 Open Call looked to support projects that were producing knowledge and evidence of the viability of circular concepts. The 2025 Open Call sought to support projects that had proven concepts and were ready to begin scaling their work.

2025 Open Call
The 2025 Open Call sought to support European projects that demonstrated market demand and real-world feasibility of circular solutions.
Their solutions were selected due to their scalable approach to challenges in the built environment, and due to their work to de-mystify assumed industry barriers and inspiring the wider sector to evolve.

CBC Key Activities 2022-2026
CBC has two key activities: producing knowledge and supporting innovation. The CBC Reports and CBC Partner Deepdives have been key knowledge production activities. The 2024 Open Call and 2025 Open Call have been opportunities for CBC to support innovation in the circular build environment and grow the markets for circular solutions.
2024 Open Call
In the 2024 Open Call, Circular Buildings Coalition received 57 responses to the Open Call for Blueprint Projects, from which we selected 10 initiatives to participate in the first phase of the programme. At the end of the first phase all initiatives submitted a whitepaper. On the basis of the whitepapers the selection committee selected 5 Blueprint Projects to receive additional funding and mentoring.
This phase of the Open Call was guided by Metabolic Ventures.
